The Franklin D. Roosevelt East River Drive (known more commonly as the FDR Drive or East Side Highway) runs North/South along the east side of Manhattan. If you are doing any NYC driving, you’re sure to be on the FDR Drive at some point.
The FDR Southernmost point is at South and Broad Streets and travels northbound until 125th St/Robert F. Kennedy Bridge (which most people know as the Triboro Bridge), when it turns into the Harlem River Drive.
The FDR is just under 10 miles long and DOES NOT allow any commercial vehicles. The Speed Limit is 40 mph.
This handy map showing all the entrances and exits is great if you regularly drive around the city or just a few times a year.
You get two practical maps of all the entrances and exits for Manhattan’s West Side Highway and FDR Drive . You’ll know each entrance and exit number and any connecting bridges, tunnels, or other highways.
- Avert traffic jams by knowing how and when to get off and on the highways
- Eliminate driving past your exit or entrance
- Easily fits in your glove compartment, laminated for sturdiness
TOLLS: No toll in either direction
